This article addresses the paradigm of documentary theater in the Republic of Moldova at the beginning of the 21st century, which has developed over the last two decades using new techniques and spectacular forms, with varied characteristics in different geographical areas, but with one common element: the interdependence between the theater and the socio-political realities. Documentary theater has become extremely influential worldwide, having a significant impact on the theater scene in the Republic of Moldova. Documentary dramatic texts created by local playwrights employ techniques such as verbatim, combining documents with fiction, or drawing inspiration from real cases and the experiences of the creators.
