In dynamic and challenging scenario with Indian higher education, academics faced the growing challenges of maintaining a long term balance between work and life (WLB). The study examines large organizational and individual factors that affect WLB among faculty members in public and private universities in India. By using a cross - sectional survey design with 300 respondents, the study examines institutional support, time management practices and tension levels for job satisfaction and personal welfare. Female academics and private institutions reported high stress and low support levels. This paper focused on the need for time management training to improve welfare institutional policies, welfare programs for the faculty.
