The article examines student's educational and research work (SERW) as an element of project-based learning in the study of "Pharmaceutical Botany" at Perm State Pharmaceutical Academy. SERW includes the study of plant anatomy and angiosperm systematics, helping students develop skills in microscopy, preparing microscopic slides, and identifying plant species using taxonomic keys. Independent research, report writing, and oral presentations foster scientific thinking and reinforce theoretical knowledge. The experience of implementing SERW demonstrates that this approach increases interest in the discipline, enhances practical training, and contributes to the achievement of professional competency OPK-1. SERW also strengthens interdisciplinary connections, preparing students for work with medicinal plant materials.
