In accordance with the update of the professional landscape of the sports industry and the creation of a set of modernized professional profiles in demand within the sector, there arose a necessity for a comprehensive assessment of the priorities and deficiencies of students. The results of this assessment would help to identify the directions for reforming the content of workforce training and the level of complexity of this task. Additionally, it is essential to periodically determine the correlation between the needs of employers for specific competencies of graduates from sports faculties and universities and the supply in the labor market at this point in time. The purpose of the study is to identify the professional priorities and deficiencies of learners at different levels of training and to correlate these results with the requirements of employers in the sports industry. Research methods: literature analysis and regulatory framework in the sports environment, anonymous survey in the digital environment, data collection and processing, determination of the correlation coefficient. Research results. In the development and implementation of core educational and additional professional training programs for the sports sector, it is essential to consider the key requirements of employers, such as theoretical training, professional autonomy, and the expansion of competencies for future employment. Furthermore, it is important to create conditions that allow students to adequately perceive these strategic tasks as central to their professional training. The high direct positive correlation between the perceptions of graduates from sports universities and employers regarding the deficits in sectoral professional education is a favorable factor for addressing the situation.
