The article discusses various approaches to the consideration of the concept of “enterprise lifecycle”, the main stages and the relationship between approaches to personnel management and these transitional life states of the company. The aim of the author is to identify the most appropriate methods of personnel management for each state and level of development. Using the proposals put forward by the author, it is possible to prevent the appearance of problems or eliminate them at the initial stage of manifestation, which can stimulate the formation of the competitive potential of the enterprise and maintain its positions. This can warn business leaders against taking the wrong steps, which in turn can lead to an early and premature end to the company’s life cycle
