The article discusses the issues of public involvement in physical education and sports. The necessity of developing management to increase the level of satisfaction of the population with the existing conditions for physical culture and sports at the municipal level, as well as the prospects for training future specialists in the field of 49.03.01 Physical culture related to the resource potential, has been identified. Based on the analysis of the results of a sociological survey conducted in 2025, with a total sample size of more than 700 respondents living in the municipal district of Sredneuralsk in the Sverdlovsk Region, it was noted that the greatest dissatisfaction with the conditions was caused by the lack of the necessary number and condition of sports facilities. At the same time, it was statistically proven that the lack of infrastructure is one of the main problems. The results obtained indicate the need to increase the level of satisfaction of parents of children aged 3-13 and the adult population with the existing conditions for physical culture and sports within walking distance. Based on the analysis of domestic and foreign scientific literature, the main types of sociological research that determine the effectiveness of the physical culture and sports industry have been identified and characterized. Special attention has been paid to the current challenges that will be faced after the completion of the project. The role of sociological research as a system-forming resource providing the definition of social needs of society to changing environmental conditions is substantiated, the study of which actualizes the formation of the necessary competencies of future specialists in the field of physical culture and sports.
