Motivation: Recently emerging two-point Dixon fat-corrected Look-Locker T1 mapping of the liver is developed as a new imaging technique that can measure the T1 value without the impact of fat. Goal(s): To evaluate how the presence of fat affects the assessment of liver fibrosis in patients with chronic liver disease using two-point Dixon fat-corrected Look-Locker T1 mapping. Approach: T1 values of liver were compared between T1 maps obtained by fat-uncorrected and fat-corrected sequences. Results: Assessment of liver fibrosis in chronic liver disease by fat-corrected T1 mapping was less influenced by the presence of fat. Impact: 2D two-point Dixon fat-corrected Look-Locker T1 mapping is essential for the proper assessment of liver fibrosis in patients with chronic liver disease under the presence of substantial hepatic steatosis.
