Abstract We calculated the prevention potential of nosocomial bacteremia and compared it to qualitative assessments by treating departments and Infection Control Unit. Most cases had high preventability scores. Agreement with treating departments was low, highlighting a gap in recognition of preventable factors and the need to improve awareness and prevention practices.
