The method used in this research is based entirely on literature review or what is commonly referred to as literature study. What is meant by literature review is a review conducted to address a problem that basically relies on basic investigations and on data that has been collected. The result is that tazkiyatun nafs according to Shaykh Abdul Qodīr Al-Jailānī is a teaching that is oriented towards the formation of praiseworthy traits and self-cleansing from despicable traits. The higher a person's praiseworthy traits, the more it will increase the purity of his soul.
