Cultural Heritage as a Catalyst for Renovation of Local Identity and Social Adaptation in Post-War Period

The purpose of the work is to consider and substantiate priority areas for the development of tourism activities aimed at integrating cultural heritage into tourist routes, which will allow creating new formats of socio-cultural cooperation between communities. The research methodology was formed by the principles of a complex of general scientific methods and approaches, in particular socio-cultural and polysystemic analysis, which combine the method of cultural modelling, systematisation of materials and logical generalisation, the comparative method, and the method of content analysis. The scientific novelty of the research lies in highlighting promising strategies for using cultural heritage in the sustainable development of the tourism sector, which will allow modernising the socio-cultural infrastructure existing in regions and individual communities to ensure the restoration of local identity and social adaptation of Ukrainians in the post-war period. Conclusions. Synergistic relationships between cultural heritage and tourism have a positive impact on the economy of regions, increasing tourist flows, average length of stay of tourists and tourism revenues. The process of ensuring sustainable development of tourism in the post-war period involves not only ensuring wide access to cultural resources, but also activating modern cultural practices and restoring cultural ties between communities through joining certified European cultural routes; joint development of the cultural environment of Ukrainian identity based on national heritage; post-war reintegration of residents of affected territories through social adaptation projects.
