Abstract The experiments reported in this article indicate that jack pine seeds can be extracted with equally good results by kiln drying at lower temperatures and for shorter periods than those now in use, and may open the way to considerable savings in labor and fuel costs. Extraction at room temperatures and humidities after heating the cones for about 10 seconds is also suggested as a possibility deserving investigation.
