In July–December 2017, an excavation—followed by an archaeological inspection during construction work in January–April 2018—was conducted inside the Bircas Ha-Torah Yeshiva building, on the corner of Or Ha- H ayim and Ararat Streets in the Old City of Jerusalem’s Jewish Quarter (Permit No. A-8088; map ref. 221882/631399; Fig. 1). The excavation, undertaken on behalf of the Israel Antiquities Authority and financed by the yeshiva, was directed by S. Weksler-Bdolah, with the assistance of D. Gelman and Z. Matskevich (inspection and area supervision), E.D. Kagan, K. Arbiv and A. Levy (archaeological inspection during construction), N. Nehama (administration), V. Essman (surveying and drafting), D.
