Abstract

Service-learning is an experiential pedagogical approach that incorporates course content with applied learning. As a teaching method utilized as part of student personal and professional development, it involves work with clients and communities to address identified issues that furthers societal growth, and social progress. This qualitative inquiry examines the lived experiences of core counselor education faculty who have taught service-learning courses in CACREP-accredited programs to develop and enhance students' multicultural competence and social justice advocacy skills.
