In February 2017, a salvage excavation was conducted at the southwestern edge of Ramla (Permit No. A-7908; map ref. 18679–94/64788–90; Fig. 1), prior to the construction of the at the Ramla West Interchange. The excavation, on behalf of the Israel Antiquities Authority and funded by the Netive Ayyalon company, was directed by R. Toueg, with the assistance of L. Brailovsky (area supervision), M. Kahan and A. Hajian (surveying and dragting), S. Krispin (trial trenches and metal detection), A. Peretz (photography, ammunition and metal objects), A. Sasson (historical research), B.
