In September 2000, a limited salvage excavation was conducted in the Ramat Yishai cemetery, on the northern slopes of Tel Risim (License No. B-214/2000; map ref. 21500/73398; Fig. 1), following concerns about damage to antiquities due to the expansion of burial plots. The excavation, on behalf of the Zinman Institute of Archaeology at the University of Haifa, funded by Ramat Yishai Local Council, was directed by M. Eisenberg (surveying, drafting, photography and metal detection), with the assistance of M. Oren-Paskal (late periods; see appendix), S. ‘Ad (pottery drawing), and A. Gilboa and Z. Gal (early pottery consultation).
Michal Oren-Paskal (Mon,) studied this question.
