The purpose of this study is to explore and suggest ways to revitalize unification education using North Korean defector instructors. Currently, the experience and roles of North Korean defector instructors are not being fully utilized in unification education fields, and issues are also being raised about the system and effectiveness of education programs. Through literature research methods and in-depth interviews with nine North Korean defector, former unification education instructors, we explored the problems they face in the educational field and ways to revitalize education. As a result of the study, the various experiences that North Korean defector instructors had in North Korea served as a great advantage, but the unsystematic teaching method was found to be a problem. In addition, problems were pointed out that the current education program does not effectively utilize the experience of North Korean defector professional instructors and that educational outcomes do not meet expectations. Therefore, in order to increase the effectiveness of education using North Korean defector unification education instructors, systematic education programs and North Korean defector education instructor training programs are requested. First, this study promotes cooperation and understanding among instructors by unifying the titles of North Korean defector professional instructors. Second, systematically prepares educational programs and teaching methods that can effectively utilize the experience of North Korean defector professional instructors. Third, North Korean defector professional instructors are systematically designed to utilize their experience. Alternatives were suggested, such as establishing a support system that would enable people to faithfully fulfill their assigned roles and responsibilities in the field.
