Abstract Nigeria, a major player in the global energy landscape, is confronted with the challenges and opportunities brought about by the ongoing energy transition. This study investigates the multifaceted impacts of the transition towards sustainable energy on the long-term sustainability of oil and gas development in Nigeria. This study aims to analyze how the global shift towards sustainable energy sources affects the sustainability paradigm of Nigeria's oil and gas sector. It seeks to identify the key factors affecting this impact, evaluating potential risks, and proposing strategies for fostering sustainability.
