The significant categorical changes observed in modern Translation Studies are directly connected with the anthropological and cultural turns of humanities, proceeding in accordance with the general scientific principle of complementarity. These changes are reflected in the emergence of new objects of translation in accordance with the new goals and objectives of translation activity. The category of neo-objects with full right includes an ethnic text, resulting from the speech activity of a certain ethnic group and serving as a reliable “storage” of its cultural information and the memory. The issues of preserving and recreating the cultural information potential of the ethnic text and the theoretical problems associated with them determine the need to create ethnic Translation Studies as an independent section of the science of translation, which requires the emergence and further development of appropriate theory and didactics. The peculiarities of ethnic translation and its active presence in socio-cultural processes dictate the necessity of its inclusion in educational standards and the creation of appropriate training and retraining programs for future translators which activity lies in the developing ethnic sector of humanities. The present study considers the experience of translating Siberian ethnic texts and combines description and prescription of potential Ethnic Translation Studies.
