This research is a description of the Arabization policy in Algeria, considered a linguistic policy adopted by Algeria to restore the linguistic situation of the country to its original state before French colonization. The goal was to establish Arabic as the language of the Algerian state and its people, replacing the French language that Algerians inherited during more than a century of colonial rule. Recognizing this linguistic situation as foreign to Algeria, successive authorities in the country, after gaining independence, attempted to impose Arabization and promote the use of the Arabic language. The process of Arabization in Algeria has undergone various stages, with each presidential term bringing its own changes and developments. Different decisions and measures have been implemented throughout each stage. This research aims to outline and describe these stages, highlighting the diverse decisions and developments that characterized the Arabization process in Algeria.
