Due to global warming and climate change, extreme weather is becoming frequent, and reducing the loss of distribution grid under extreme weather conditions has become a priority. Focusing on the rainstorm disasters that often occur in southwest China, this paper firstly analyzes the mechanism of extreme rainstorm on the urban distribution grid, discusses the urban waterlogging model, proposes the calculation method of water accumulation height, and studies the probability of failure model of the distribution grid components under urban waterlogging. And then this paper proposes the risk assessment method of distribution grid under heavy rain. Finally, based on the risk indicators of distribution grid operation, the measures to reduce the operation risk of distribution grid under heavy rain disaster are put forth.
