Vibration-based identification methods show great promise in damage detection. Modal parameters, such as natural frequencies and modal shapes, are the global parameters of a structure. Their change may indicate the presence of damage in the structure. This paper presents an enhanced procedure for damage detection using natural frequency shifts. The effectiveness of the proposed procedure is validated using numerical simulations followed by experimental tests.
