This study highlights the barriers faced by virtual project teams in achieving effective communication, including cultural differences, time zone disparities, language barriers, and technological issues. It also identifies communication technologies that act as facilitators and emphasizes the importance of proactive communication practices. By understanding and addressing these barriers, virtual project teams can navigate the complexities of remote work and foster successful collaboration. Effective communication is very important for the success of every project team, and it is most important for a virtual team as team members are not able to meet with each other daily for proper follow-up with the progress of each team member’s work. Communicating effectively will help everyone to be at the same level of understanding as far as the project process is concerned. The use of effective communication strategies can be used to overcome cultural and language barriers. To enhance communication effectiveness, Children Mission Africa (C.M.A) should prioritize the establishment of clear communication norms, invest in cross-cultural training, and utilize contemporary communication tools such as video conferencing and instant messaging apps like Slack.
