The geopolitical choice remains an extremely relevant theme for the Republic of Moldova, which determines the confrontation of political parties, the division of political elites and Moldovan society along geopolitical lines. The article aims to analyze the results of the constitutional referendum held on October 20, 2024 in the Republic of Moldova, concurrently with the first round of the presidential elections. The study focuses on the reflection of the issue of geopolitical choice in the programs of the most influential political parties in the country, as well as on the public opinion of Moldovan citizens on this issue. Despite the results of the constitutional referendum, the authors of the article believe that the real level of support for European integration among the Moldovan population is reflected in the presidential elections, and the results can be interpreted as a vote of confidence for the Moldovan authorities. Broadly speaking, Moldovan citizens realize that the European vector means stability, long-term development prospects at the level of EU standards, and in the future, it aims to improve the well-being of the inhabitants of the Republic of Moldova.
