The article defines the essence and structure of logical and mathematical competence. The peculiarities of the formation of logic and mathematical competence of preschool children are revealed and substantiated. Today, the issue of updating the system of logic and mathematical development of preschoolers, which should be aimed at building innovative content, forms, and methods of the educational process that guarantee the development of each child's cognitive abilities and personal qualities, has been updated. In preschool age, the nature and effectiveness of such logic and mathematical development becomes a success factor in the next mastery of mathematics at school. The article contains a description of the pedagogical experiment conducted at the Konotop Primary School’s "Leader".
