The purpose of this study was to determine the characteristics of fish cultivators on floating net cages in the Loa Tebu urban district and to determine the forms of local wisdom of fish cultivators in floating net cages in the Loa Tebu urban district related to fisheries resource management. The method used in this research is descriptive. The data types used are primary and secondary. The data collection techniques that the author uses are observation, interviews, and documentation and the data analysis technique is qualitative. The sampling technique used in this research was purposive sampling. Sampling was carried out deliberately based on predetermined considerations. The results illustrate that the group of fish cultivators in floating net cages in the Loa Tebu urban district, Tenggarong sub-district, Kutai Kartanegara Regency, on average, have a high level of education, are Muslim, age range 25 - 60 years, the majority are men, the majority have been in the cultivation business for 5 - 10 years old, and of the Kutai tribe. The livelihoods of local communities are related to the use of fisheries resources, seen from their local knowledge, such as traditions: cooperation, prayer to ward off evil, and reducing fish food during high tide. Customs: the melaboh ritual is a unique ritual to feed the river. Beliefs: Evil creatures or demons, crocodiles, water ghosts, and extinction. Prohibitions: Prohibited from carrying out activities at dusk, throwing rubbish in the river, capak, and not sharing food with the river. Ethics and Rules: it is prohibited to carry out market competition that is detrimental to fish cultivators.
