Historical wood pastures represent an important and deeply rooted landscape element in Slovakia. These unique ecosystems have played a key role in the cultural, economic, and environmental history of the country. Within these systems, agricultural and forest components are combined to create synergistic relationships that can contribute to ecological, economic, and social sustainability. However, due to increasing pressure from modernization and changes in agriculture, these ecosystems are under threat, leading to the loss of their value and biodiversity. The current state of wood-pastures in Slovakia requires detailed analysis and identification.
