Statement of the problem. The current issues of calculating and forming the necessary fleet of road maintenance equipment for the maintenance of highways and engineering structures are considered. Special attention is paid to the problem of equipping road maintenance organizations with the necessary number of specialized equipment capable of effectively solving a wide range of tasks to maintain the regulatory condition of highways in modern operating conditions. Results.Optimization of the fleet structure depends on a variety of production factors and operating conditions. The analysis of operational parameters and the application of various coefficients presented in the study make it possible to predict the actual performance of equipment for urban and suburban environments. Conclusions. An integrated assessment approach is necessary to create an optimal set of machines and mechanisms appropriate to specific tasks. At the same time, not only the technical parameters are crucial for the machines themselves, but also for the nature of the operations performed. Local conditions have a significant impact on the final structure of the park, from weather conditions to traffic congestion and the territorial location of facilities.
