Abstract This paper focuses on maintenance processes and the impact of unexpected events on them. The creation of plans, especially production plans, provides a basis for the planning of accompanying (e. g. capacity provision) or supporting processes (e. g. logistics). These plans interact with other parts of the process chain. If the results of a production plan changes or if the planned and actual status differs, the associated resource plans must be checked and revised if necessary. Disruptions are the cause of plans that are not adhered to. These disruptions affect the production process and the plans drawn up for it, making rescheduling necessary. This paper illustrates the impact of a non-resilient planning system through a case study.
