ABSTRACT A method, employing after images, which can be used to investigate the fixation ability of experimental observers is explained. For a limited time period the ability to keep an eye steady on a small point does not change. The gross picture of fixation appears similar whether the eye is under binocular fixation can be studied with this technique.
