Frogeye leaf spot, caused by Cercospora sojina, and Septoria brown spot, caused by Septoria glycines, are foliar diseases of mungbean (Vigna radiata). This report evaluates fungicide and insecticide applications at different reproductive growth stages for managing foliar disease and insect-related yield loss. A field trial was conducted in 2024 in central Iowa on cultivar ‘Berken’ to assess applications at R1, R3, and R5. Results indicate that insecticide applications at R3 reduced pod abortion and protected yield, whereas fungicide applications reduced foliar disease but did not affect yield. These findings inform pest management timing for mungbean in the U.S. Midwest.
