Abstract

The Research Article by Ahyoun Lim, Ioannis Spanos, and co-workers (10.1002/celc.202500387) elucidates how spectator anions regulate chloride adsorption on Ni-based OER catalysts. Using combined EQCM and operando SERS, they show that sulfate and nitrate selectively suppress chloride-induced CER and corrosion while preserving OER activity, offering electrolyte-based strategies for seawater electrolysis.
