The DIGITAL GENOME or the assignment of identity or personhood to entities equipped with artificial intelligence (hereinafter ID-AI) is exactly that: an extension of legal status to a new entity other than the human being, an expansion of rights and legal obligations that for many is considered unthinkable. This paper discusses about (1) the existence of conditions for considering an AI-based system as an entity and (2) the reallife effects of the potential assignment of an identity of its own. (2.a) it’s possible place or not in the legal-economic-social Framework, and if so, (2.b) in what way and with what legal attributions. This document is an approximation of the study on the possible assignment of identity or personhood to entities equipped with artificial intelligence, what I have baptized with the name of ID-AI, from the perspective of its ethical, legal and social implications (ELSI), as a preliminary step to know if they are subject to rights and obligations. To discover the DIGITAL GENOME, if one exists, of these entities, in order to determine their eligibility for AI-Personhood. A study that goes beyond the limits of contemporary thought to find symbiotic answers and solutions between human life and emerging technologies; in short, beneficial conclusions for society in general.
