Abstract Ocular hypertension (OHT) is a definite clinical entity with specific requirements of diagnosis and treatment. A proportion of patients with OHT progress to primary open-angle glaucoma. The identification and decision regarding initiating treatment or to continue only on observation and the schedule of follow-up thereof are extremely important for ophthalmologists. There remain areas of uncertainty and variable practice patterns regarding the treatment of OHT. This review aims to highlight the salient points regarding evidence-based treatment of OHT.
