Microfinance initiatives have been proposed as a potential tool for improving livestock health management among rural populations in Nigeria. A comprehensive search strategy was employed, including electronic databases such as PubMed, Scopus, and Google Scholar. Studies were selected based on predefined inclusion criteria related to microfinance and livestock health interventions in Nigeria. Microfinance programmes showed mixed results with varying adoption rates across different regions of Nigeria, ranging from 20% to 80%, and a positive but modest impact on animal growth outcomes. The review highlights the importance of tailored microfinance strategies for effective livestock health management in rural Nigerian shepherds. Further research is recommended to explore the specific factors influencing microfinance adoption and their effects on livestock health. Treatment effect was estimated with logit (pᵢ) =₀+^ Xᵢ, and uncertainty reported using confidence-interval based inference.
