In the digital age, academic libraries play a vital role to supporting the teaching, learning and research activities. Library skills are essential competencies that are enable college students to effectively locate, evaluate and use information resources available in the library. This paper examines the importance of library skills among academic college students focusing on the both traditional and digital competencies. It highlights the role of library skills in improving the academic performance, encouraging for independent learning and fostering critical thinking. The study also explores the challenges face by the students in utilizing library resources and suggests strategies to enhance library skills through institutional support and training programs.
