Abstract In the summer of 2025, the Biomedical Engineering Division (BED) of the American Society of Engineering Education (ASEE) held a special session dedicated to exploring the challenges in biomedical engineering education. The goal of the session was not only to identify challenges of today, but brainstorm strategies to address these challenges and spotlight biomedical engineering education organizations that are available for resources and support. This paper summarizes the insights from the session and proposes a “Call to Action” as we look to the future of biomedical engineering education. Focused efforts in curricular changes, and utilization of existing resources including a rich network of biomedical engineering alumni will be integral to the continued growth and development of biomedical engineering education in the future.
