Abstract

Tuberculosis (TB) remains a significant public health challenge in Kibera Slum, Kenya, despite various awareness campaigns. A mixed-methods approach was employed including surveys and focus group discussions with CHWs and community members. CHWs demonstrated a significant increase in TB-related knowledge, with an average improvement of 25% compared to pre-training levels (p < 0. 01). Training programmes effectively enhanced CHWs' understanding of TB awareness; further research is needed for community impact. Continued training and support are recommended to sustain knowledge gains among CHWs and improve TB awareness in the Kibera Slum. Community Health Workers, Tuberculosis Awareness, Knowledge Gain Analysis Model estimation used =argmin_ᵢ (yᵢ, f_ (xᵢ) ) +₂², with performance evaluated using out-of-sample error.
