This paper focuses on the cultivation of innovative talents in environmental engineering programs at local undergraduate universities. It elaborates on the teaching reform of the “Introduction to Environmental Science” course from three perspectives: overall framework of curriculum reform, construction and implementation of the “Tri-Guide, Tri-Drive, Tri-Integration” teaching model, and the preliminary achievements of the curriculum teaching reform practices. By fostering problem-solving awareness among lower-grade undergraduates, enhancing collaborative innovation capabilities, and shape excellent personalities, this reform comprehensively optimizes the training quality of applied high-quality innovative talents in environmental engineering, in line with the practical development needs of the field.
