In this study, we report the development of a novel hybrid nanocomposite combining Ti 3 C 2 T x MXene and Phoenix dactylifera biochar (PDB) for enhanced electrocatalytic water splitting. The nanocomposite was synthesized through a facile hydrothermal method, creating an intimate interface between the MXene nanosheets and biochar nanoparticles. Comprehensive characterization revealed that the biochar was uniformly distributed on the Ti 3 C 2 T x MXene nanosheet surface, forming a hierarchical structure with enhanced electrical conductivity and active surface area. The synergistic effect between MXene and biochar@ 20wt% (MB20) significantly improved the electrocatalytic performance, achieving a low overpotential of 298 mV for the oxygen evolution reaction (OER). The hybrid nanocomposite catalyst demonstrated exceptional stability, maintaining its performance over 3000 cycles. The Tafel slopes are very low (112 mV/dec) for the OER respectively. This work presents a sustainable and efficient approach to designing high‐performance electrocatalysts by combining the properties of MXenes with the cost‐effective and environmentally friendly characteristics of biochar, offering promising potential for large‐scale water splitting applications.
