This study examines the impact of gender equality workshops on secondary school teachers' empowerment in Lagos schools. Qualitative research methods were employed, including semi-structured interviews with teachers from selected schools in Lagos to gather insights into the impact of the workshops. Teachers reported a significant shift in perception regarding gender roles within the classroom, with over 80% indicating an increased awareness and commitment towards promoting equal opportunities for all students, regardless of gender. The workshops have successfully empowered teachers to integrate gender equity into their teaching practices, fostering an environment that promotes inclusivity and fairness among students. Based on the findings, it is recommended that future initiatives should focus on continuous professional development programmes for teachers, ensuring ongoing support in implementing gender equality strategies effectively.
