This publication documents the Spring School reuse.practice — a workshop led by Baukreisel in collaboration with Alter asbl that took place in Vilvoorde, Belgium, as part of Horst Atelier 2025. Over two weeks, an abandoned military building in Asiat Park was transformed into the Niteshop — a multifunctional space for arts, music, and community engagement. Twenty international students and local participants collaborated with the Baukreisel team, Alter, and local experts to explore circular construction and creative reuse. The booklet chronicles the full process — from initial site analysis and deconstruction to design, material cataloguing, and construction using salvaged elements from both the site and urban mines in Brussels. It presents practical strategies for adaptive reuse, modular interventions, and collective learning, highlighting how circular practices can shape spatial quality, social interaction, and community value. Through detailed documentation of building transformation, interventions, and collaborative design practices, this publication provides insights into circular architecture, sustainable building, and hands-on educational methods in a professional and academic context.
