A phase 1 study of berzosertib (M6620, VX‐970) in combination with cisplatin and radiation in patients with locally advanced head and neck squamous cell carcinoma (ETCTN 9950)
Key Points
This study aims to evaluate the safety and response of berzosertib when combined with radiation and cisplatin in head and neck cancer patients.
Phase 1 clinical trial
Berzosertib administered at 200 mg/m² IV weekly
Participants received chemoradiation including cisplatin
Evaluated complete response rates post-treatment
Treatment was safe and tolerable for patients
No improvement in complete response rate observed in locally advanced head and neck cancer
Combination therapy did not enhance effectiveness compared to standard treatment.
Abstract
Berzosertib (200 mg/m2 iv weekly) was safe when combined with chemoradiation but did not improve complete response rate in LA-HNSCC.
