Health systems in Africa have faced significant challenges during epidemics, necessitating resilience strategies to mitigate risks and enhance preparedness. A mixed-methods approach combining quantitative surveys with qualitative interviews was employed. Data from 500 healthcare workers and 10 focus groups were analysed using thematic content analysis. Egypt's health system demonstrated high resilience during the COVID-19 pandemic, characterized by strong leadership, rapid response mechanisms, and community engagement. The findings highlight the critical role of effective leadership, robust communication strategies, and community collaboration in enhancing epidemic management. Adoption of similar successful models should be encouraged to improve health system resilience globally, particularly focusing on strengthening local governance structures and public-private partnerships. health systems resilience, Egypt, epidemics, survey analysis
