Type 2 diabetes is now recognised as a dynamic condition that can sometimes go into remission. From this perspective, exercise training is a key factor in slowing the progression of the disease and supporting this remission process. The beneficial effects of exercise are attributable to the essential role of muscle as an endocrine organ and the genuine metabolic dialogue it engages in with other organs. In this regard, it is imperative to provide patients with support as they undergo physical transformation, fostering a sense of purpose and fulfilment in this process. Alliance, listening to patients' experiences and personalised teaching are at the heart of therapeutic patient education, which can promote potential remission of diabetes, while giving even greater meaning to the commitment of healthcare professionals.
