Entrepreneurship ecosystems and innovation hubs are critical for fostering economic growth in developing countries. Tanzania is an emerging market with significant potential for such initiatives. A comprehensive literature review and case study approach were employed to analyse existing data and insights from relevant stakeholders in Tanzania. The analysis reveals that while there is growing interest in these areas, the infrastructure for innovation hubs is underdeveloped, with only a quarter of identified initiatives receiving external funding. Despite challenges, there is potential for growth within existing frameworks and support from both governmental and non-governmental entities could enhance their effectiveness. Governmental bodies should prioritise investment in infrastructure and policy frameworks to support the development of innovation hubs. Non-governmental organizations can play a key role in capacity building and resource allocation.
