This paper presents an embedded smart accident prevention and detection system designed to enhance road safety through real-time monitoring and communication. The proposed system integrates multiple sensors with an Arduino-based controller to continuously observe driver behavior and vehicle conditions. A tilt sensor (MPU6050) and vibration sensor are used to detect abnormal motion and collision events, while an eye-blink sensor and heart rate sensor monitor driver alertness and health status. A magnetic sensor ensures seat belt usage. The collected data is processed and displayed on an LCD, while long-range communication is achieved using LoRa technology. In emergency situations, the system automatically activates a buzzer alert and transmits the vehicle’s location and status using GPS and GSM modules. A manual push-button is also provided for user-triggered alerts. The prototype demonstrates a cost-effective, reliable, and real-time solution that combines accident prevention, detection, and emergency response, making it suitable for modern intelligent transportation systems.
