The study examines the impact of mergers and acquisitions (M&A) on Canara Bank's financial performance over a long period. It focuses on key financial ratios from 2015 to 2025 to understand changes in the bank's financial condition after these M&A activities. The financial ratios covered are: profitability, financial coverage, efficiency, capital structure, and liquidity. To analyze the data, statistical tools used are Paired ‘t’ test. The findings show successful synergy realization and enhanced value creation following the merger, with statistically significant increases in capital structure, profitability, efficiency, and economic value added. However, there were no substantial shifts in liquidity or financial coverage ratios. The results highlight the intricate financial ramifications of mergers and acquisitions (M&A), offering crucial information to stakeholders, policymakers, and bank management. Strategies to enhance post-merger integration procedures and guarantee long-term financial viability are included in the study's conclusion.
