The analysis introduces infrastructural hygiene as a measurable property of epistemic systems and demonstrates how non‑maintenance—rather than ignorance—produces drift between institutional models and the phenomena they claim to represent. The paper develops the SignalRupture (SR) framework as a diagnostic tool for auditing model specification. Through conceptual re‑specification, SR shows how omitted structural variables inflate effect sizes, generate misleading statistical significance, and contribute to broader replication challenges.
