Efficacy of catheterization of the distal radial artery in blood pressure monitoring and blood sampling: a randomized controlled clinical study
Key Points
To assess the efficacy of the distal radial artery as an alternative site for catheterization in blood pressure monitoring and blood sampling.
Conducted a randomized controlled clinical trial
Compared distal radial artery catheterization with proximal radial artery catheterization
Evaluated outcomes related to blood pressure monitoring and blood sampling
Distal radial artery catheterization proved effective for blood pressure monitoring
Patients showed positive outcomes with positional changes
Improved feasibility and accessibility for blood sampling observed
Abstract
The distal radial artery may be a useful alternative site to the proximal radial artery for catheterization, particularly in adult patients in whom positional change is required.
