Abstract

The Health Care District of Palm Beach County unveiled the name of its planned, first‐of‐its‐kind crisis and mental health care facility, Two Waters Mental Health Center, during its 2026 Strategic Planning meeting, according to the South Florida Hospital News Healthcare Report. Set to open in 2029, the center is designed as a 24/7 centralized access point for individuals experiencing mental health or substance use crises, drawing on nationally recognized, evidence‐based crisis care models. National expert Dr. Margie Balfour addressed community partners at the meeting, describing how similar models are being implemented nationwide and how Palm Beach County plans to adapt that approach locally.
